Can statements be run on the 1st?

We have allowed our credit unions to run statements after their normal month-end is completed.  Some like to do this to reduce the tension associated with getting everything completed right at Month-end.  Although you can run your statements well into the next month , we do recommend running them before any back office postings are done in the new month.
The reason for this is that the back office postings update the last EFT transaction date on the account which is used for the Reg E compliance on statements to send a monthly statement.  The issue, although rare, would be that a member could get a statement based on that flag being

updated for the following month even through they would not have gotten one in the previous month.
A Quarter end should not create this problem as all members should receive a statement on the quarter if their account is active.
We believe the exposure is small, but still feel that this should only happen in rare cases, but because it might be a little confusing to your members we recommend completing the initial statement run before you  post any back office items.

       CU-TIP: Shift-F1 >>>>>>> Shift-F3

"^F1=View Receipt" in the history screen has been changed to: "^F3=View Receipt"

The Shift-F1 will become the new system-wide hot-key for on-line documentation.
The 1st documentation areas should become available in early in 2007!

International Transactions on Cards

This is a reminder that the PDCU software now allows our credit unions to restrict foreign PINNED (ATM)  transactions on their members cards.  With all the latest fraud that has been showing up, we highly recommend this option.   The PDCU system will set a general restriction on the cards, and then allow you to set excep

tions for a given length of time per card so you can accommodate members living or traveling out of the country.  We also recommend that you take great efforts to inform your members of this change before it takes place so that they will not be taken by surprise.  Contact CUDP for information or to implement.

Product Review Committee

We are so grateful for the involvement of our credit unions in our PRC meetings.   It is great to not only have your input and decisions on the direction of CUDP, but also in how we implement our enhancements.   Having an active PRC group has allowed us to improve our products greatly and helps keep us on track working for the things you really want.   Thansks for your help!

We hope that we can see even more of you involved in the future.   Our meeting locations will vary somewhat in 2007 which we hope will help more of our credit unions attend.   Our next PRC meeting is scheduled for the 2nd week in February and will be held in Boise.

ALSO FOR YOUR CALENDAR:
CUDP's Annual Meeting has been scheduled for September 19-21, 2007 in Salt Lake City

Seasons Greetings

CUDP wishes all of our credit unions and their respective families a  Merry Christmas and a Prosperous and Happy New Year!
